AAHKS has information available about hip and knee replacement. You can review this web page and the answer to the question “Is THR very painful?” http://www.aahks.org/care-for-hips-and-knees/do-i-need-a-joint-replacement/total-hip-replacement/ There is also information about pain following total knee replacement at http://www.aahks.org/care-for-hips-and-knees/do-i-need-a-joint-replacement/total-knee-replacement/
