The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announced this week that awardees who started participation in the Bundled Payments for Care Improvement (BPCI) initiative in October 2013 and are scheduled to end in 2016, are now able to extend participation in Models 2, 3 and 4 through September 30, 2018.
CMS reports that as of April 1, 2016 there are 321 awardees and 1201 episode initiators, making up the 1522 BPCI participants. More information is available on CMS’s website.
