In November, AAHKS provided comments to the CMS Center for Medicare & Medicaid Innovation (CMMI), which sent out a New Direction Request for Information (RFI) to help guide CMMI on future activities. This week they released the comments received from more than 1,000 medical societies, physician practices and health systems. According to CMS, comments covered a wide variety of topics and “reflected broad support for reducing burdensome requirements and unnecessary regulations.” AAHKS comments touched on voluntary versus mandatory payment models, empowering beneficiaries, adequate risk adjustment, and excessive physician reporting among other issues. Download the comments (4,500 pages).
