MD Magazine reported on a study published in Arthritis & Rheumatology on whether psoriatic arthritis has an effect on the outcome of hip replacement surgery. The article references a previous Mayo Clinic study from 2005 that showed psoriatic arthritis can lead to hip joint disease in a minority of patients. The recent study concluded that “patients with psoriatic arthritis face no greater risk of poor outcomes than patients who get hip replacements because of osteoarthritis.” Full story.
