At last week’s Board retreat, the AAHKS Board of Directors voted to proceed with the formation of a task force to examine the feasibility of forming a subsidiary to convene and manage a bundled payment program for interested members. The Board’s concern is that some members lack the organization and resources to benefit from new Medicare payment models, and their ability to provide care could be adversely affected. The new task force is divided into two work groups, the business group chaired by Richard Iorio, MD and the membership group chaired by Adolph J. Yates, MD.  This initiative will be discussed with Medicare officials and Congressional Members during a Washington visit by AAHKS leadership in August.
