UPDATE: In June 2020, FOCAL will take place on Thursday nights.

FOCAL arose as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic.  Because elective surgeries were postponed at many institutions, AAHKS leadership recognized that the effect of the pandemic might significantly impair the fellowship learning experience in 2020.  To help augment the fellows’ learning experience, AAHKS created the FOCAL Initiative – a free, online, interactive learning experience for surgeons in training that have chosen adult reconstruction as a specialty.

Through FOCAL, fellows and senior residents are invited to listen to lectures from many of the country’s top adult reconstruction surgeons and participate in case discussions.  One of the many benefits of this program is the opportunity to see the different perspectives and techniques of surgeons across the country that you may not have had access to before.
