Patrick Conway, MD Receives Dr. Nathan Davis Award

Rosemont, Ill. – Patrick Conway, MD, MSc, Deputy Administrator for Innovation and Quality and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Chief Medical Officer, received the American Medical Association’s (AMA) Dr. Nathan Davis Award for Outstanding Government Service. In a ceremony on February 28, 2017 in Washington, D.C., the AMA presented Dr. Conway with the award for his work to improve health outcomes in his role with CMS.

AAHKS President, William A. Jiranek, MD, nominated Dr. Conway for the award and was present with an AAHKS delegation at the ceremony. He stated that Dr. Conway “uses his wide and varied expertise, informed by real world experience, to administer the federal role of the nation-wide transition to value based care. He has been instrumental in moving towards innovation that has come through CMS regarding BPCI and CJR. Dr. Conway’s efforts to work with AAHKS and other physician groups are making the programs better for patient access and care.”

This is AAHKS’ first nomination for the Dr. Nathan Davis Award.
