capitol hillMore than 40 Members of the AAHKS Board of Directors, Committee Chairs and staff are in Washington, D. C. to communicate AAHKS’ advocacy agenda to Congress. After hearing from Danielle Steele, Health Policy Counsel to the Energy & Commerce Subcommittee Chairman Michael Burgress (R-TX) and Philo Hall of Epstein Becker & Green about CMMI, they headed to Capitol Hill. Delegations met with staff in Congressional Offices to discuss our continued work on the CJR and SHFFT payment models, work towards physician led bundled payment models and risk-adjusted care to protect high-risk patients. They also met with CMS/CMMI regarding ongoing CJR implementation issues and prospects for a physician-led model. Leaders wrapped up the two-day trip with a meeting to plan the 2017 Federal agenda and other policy initiatives.
