Mike thanks President Barack Obama for enacting MACRA and expresses AAHKS’s willingness to provide input as Medicare payment reforms develop.

On Tuesday, April 21, 2015, AAHKS Executive Director, Michael J. Zarski, JD attended an event hosted by President Barack Obama in The White House Rose Garden to celebrate the signing of the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act (MACRA) which repealed the Sustainable Growth Rate formula (SGR).

In his remarks to the audience of health care organization representatives, physicians and legislators, President Obama said, “I actually signed the bill into law last week just to make sure that America’s doctors didn’t get hit by any deep cuts, even if it was just for a day. And so I wanted to make sure we signed it without the fanfare. But I figured we could all still enjoy each other’s company – because we did not just settle for fixing an old formula; we replaced it with a better one.”

Mike thanked the President, Congressional leaders, and Administration officials for enacting MACRA and expressed AAHKS’s willingness to provide its input as Medicare payment reforms develop. To see more photos, visit the AAHKS Facebook page.
