The Foundation for Arthroplasty Research and Education (FARE) facilitates the AAHKS mission to advance patient care through leadership in education.
AAHKS is recognized by the IRS as a not-for-profit trade association, which allows the organization to carry out significant advocacy and lobbying activities on behalf of its members’ interests, but it cannot accept tax-deductible charitable contributions. In the past, AAHKS members’ contributions and bequests were sent to the Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation (OREF) and held as a designated account. OREF notified AAHKS that its Board approved changes to ensure that they are operating within current best practice guidelines for charitable organizations and encouraged AAHKS to form its own foundation.
Approved by the IRS, FARE will begin receiving donations soon.
