On Thursday, Oct. 23, 150 residents attended the Resident Lab Course, a unique learning experience designed to expose PGYIII and IV orthopaedic surgeons to the field of arthroplasty with hands-on training implanting and cementing. Next, residents, medical students and fellows attended the Resident & Student Research Symposium, hearing 10 top-rated poster presentations from arthroplasty surgeons in training at the podium. The AAHKS Young Arthroplasty Group (YAG) Educational Panel, “Worst Mistakes & Best Decisions in Early Practice: Secrets to Building Your Career,” provided insight for new and soon-to-be practicing surgeons. The day ended with a YAG “Yard Party” Social & Networking event. These are just some of the expanding learning opportunities for fellows at AAHKS. Today’s Fellowship Director’s Forum also provided updates to program directors and faculty on issues impacting arthroplasty fellowship education, including signaling and universal interview release dates for the 2026 Match. More information will be sent directly to hip & knee fellowships
