Last week AAHKS joined the American Medical Association (AMA) and 122 other national specialty and state medical societies in calling on Congressional leadership to work with the physician community to address the “deeply alarm[ing]…mounting financial instability of the Medicare physician payment system”. These issues include scheduled payment cuts as well as a Medicare physician payment reduction of 20%, adjusted for inflation from 2001–2021, according to an AMA analysis.
