Global Health Outreach: Increasing Care in Guatemala

AAHKS member and Past President Brian S. Parsley, MD recently traveled to Antigua, Guatemala to celebrate the grand reopening of the new operating rooms and expanded ward capacity at the Obras Sociales del Santo Hermano Pedro Hospital. This renovation will expand operating room capabilities to eight and enhance the number of surgical cases that can be performed by Operation Walk and Faith In Practice teams. It’s a great celebration for Guatemala and for all those patients in need. Faith In Practice is a medical mission team that provides pro bono medical care in Guatemala that has grown to be the second largest health care provider organization in that country. The Women Orthopaedist Global Outreach (WOGO) team will travel to Antigua July 1-8, 2022 for their next medical mission.
