Newest Amplified Addresses Lemon-Dropped Patients

At the 2023 AAHKS Annual Meeting, Digital Health and Social Media Committee Chair Shaun P. Patel, MD and Member Andrew M. Schwartz, MD sat down with Jeffrey J. Barry, MD to discuss his paper, “Early Clinical Outcomes of ‘Lemon–Dropped’ Complex Primary TJA Patients to a Tertiary Care Center.” In this podcast, Dr. Barry shared his study’s focus on patients that were considered complex or complicated and rejected elsewhere for various medical or surgical reasons. His findings indicated that resource burdens doubled with these patients – double the time in the OR, double the time spent in the ED afterwards and double the length of stay time.
