AAHKS Members Attend RUC Meeting

On April 24, William Macaulay, MD, Health Policy Committee Vice Chair and Stephen Duncan, MD, Health Policy Fellow, attended the RAW (Relative Activity Workgroup) at the AMA RUC meeting in Chicago to discuss the hip revision code 27134. AAHKS member and AAOS RUC alternate representative, John Heiner, MD, presented an action plan to the workgroup. The workgroup concluded that it needed a uniform methodology for all of the sub-specialties presenting action plans for the different 23 codes that came up in their screening process. The RAW asked all groups to revise their action plans and scheduled further discussion for the next RUC meeting in the fall.
