Edward C. Tanner, MD represented AAHKS at the AMA House of Delegates during their Interim Meeting in Orlando, Fla. last month. AMA President Andrew W. Gurman, MD, an orthopaedic surgeon from Pennsylvania, addressed the Orthopaedic Section Council about the recent presidential election and ensuring a voice within the new administration. Recommendations were made in the Board of Trustees – Report 6: Designation of the Specialty Societies for representation in the House of Delegates that will bring the number of specialty society representation equal to the state society representation. This will give specialties and states a 50-50 balance in the House of Delegates.
