The U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) has scheduled the first virtual Public Workshop, “Orthopedic Device-Related Infections” for November 13, 2020. AAHKS Research Committee Chair, Javad Parvizi, MD, worked with colleagues on the agenda and selecting faculty for this series. Dr. Parvizi and AAHKS Second Vice President, Bryan D. Springer, MD, will speak in the first workshop and other AAHKS members may be involved in future lectures. The objective is to bring together industry, academia, government and physician communities as well as the general public to gain an increased understanding of infections related to orthopaedic devices. Discussion will center around steps to protect and promote public health in this clinical area.
