The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced this week that it is distributing additional funds from the Provider Relief Fund through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). Funds will be made available to eligible Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) providers that participate in state Medicaid and CHIP programs, who have not already received funds. Eligible providers will need to apply. HHS is expected to distribute approximately $15 billion to eligible providers and hospitals that participate in state Medicaid and CHIP programs, who have not yet received relief through the Provider Relief Fund General Allocation.
