Chiara Rodgers, AAHKS Director of Research and Humanitarian Activities, joined Operation Walk Syracuse last week on their medical mission to Ghana. This was the team’s fourth trip to St. Joseph Hospital in Koforidua, Ghana. Despite travel delays and a logistical delay in delivery of supplies, the team was able to complete 50 joint replacement cases in two days. This mission, led by AAHKS members Seth S. Greenky, MD and Brett B. Greenky, MD, also educated in-country orthopaedic surgeons, nurses, physical therapists and other healthcare professionals on the most advanced treatments and surgical techniques for diseases of the hip and knee joints.
