The Musculoskeletal Tumor Society (MSTS) and the Orthopaedic Trauma Association (OTA) have granted AAHKS their official endorsement of the Tranexamic Acid in Total Joint Arthroplasty Clinical Practice Guidelines. AAHKS, the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine (ASRA), the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), The Hip Society and The Knee Society developed evidence-based guidelines on the use of tranexamic acid (TXA) in primary total joint arthroplasty. The purpose of these guidelines is to improve the treatment of orthopaedic surgical patients and reduce practice variation by promoting a multidisciplinary evidence-based approach on the use of TXA. Visit the Clinical Practice Guidelines section of the new AAHKS website to download the guideline.
