The hip-spine relationship is an important factor that can affect the outcome of THA. The alignment and mobility of the spine can influence the orientation of the acetabular component, as well as the risk of impingement, joint instability and leg length discrepancy. During this symposium, we will hear from experts in functional cup planning on how to approach hip-spine assessments in inpatient and outpatient settings, examine complex hip-spine THA cases and address challenging questions in spinopelvic mechanics and its application to pre-operative planning for THA.
