AAHKS is proud to announce Antonia F. Chen, MD, MBA, has taken office as the 2026-27 President, taking over the role from outgoing AAHKS President R. Michael Meneghini, MD. Dr. Chen is the first female AAHKS President in 15 years and only the second woman to serve as AAHKS President ever, after Mary I. O’Connor, MDDr. Chen is Professor and Dr. Charles F. Gregory Distinguished Chair in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. She holds many leadership positions throughout orthopaedics, is on the editorial boards of several orthopaedic journals and is a widely published researcher and expert in the field of arthroplastyShe completed an arthroplasty fellowship at the Rothman Institute and earned an MBA from Rutgers University Business School. In the year to come, Dr. Chen will bring experienced leadership and vision to AAHKS, focusing specifically on surgeon wellness and burnout.
