Last week, a coalition of 10 national physician, patient advocacy, senior and rural health care organizations joined AAHKS to express our strong concerns to Centers of Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Administrator Mehmet Oz, MD about the proposed reductions to Medicare reimbursement for hip and knee replacement procedures in the CY 2027 Physician Fee Schedule. The letter urges CMS to reconsider the reductions before finalizing the rule, citing the potential consequences for patient access, physician and the availability of orthopaedic care, particularly for seniors and individuals in rural and underserved communities. For more information, read the letter.
