The 2023 AAHKS Spring Meeting commenced yesterday in Chicago, bringing together nearly 200 attendees including expert faculty members and representatives from seven sponsoring companies. This case-based clinical meeting combines general and breakout sessions, emphasizing small-group learning in interactive settings with some of the leading faculty in the field of arthroplasty. Attendees were welcomed to the meeting by Co-Chairs Gregory G. Polkowski II, MD, MSc, James A. Browne, MD and Bryan D. Springer, MD. Today’s knee-focused education includes basics of TKA and revision, including periprosthetic joint infection and an “ask the experts session.” Tomorrow’s programing overviews THA techniques, including periprosthetic fractures.

Immediately prior to the Spring Meeting, the Board of Directors hosted a Leadership Retreat, led by recently installed AAHKS President Javad Parvizi, MD, FRCS. Committee Chairs and Vice Chairs provided updates on ongoing initiatives and reported on their plans for the coming year.
