AAHKS Summary of CMS IPPS and TEAM Final Rule

CMS recently released the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ final rule for the fiscal year 2025 Medicare Inpatient Prospective Payment System (IPPS) for acute and long-term care, which includes the Innovation Center’s Transforming Episode Accountability Model (TEAM) final rule. This mandatory episode-based alternative payment model will commence in January 2026 and include lower extremity joint replacement, among other procedures.
