The deadline to submit an application for the 2022-2023 AAHKS Health Policy Fellowship is approaching on Friday, October 1. The program, which runs on the calendar year, is open to orthopaedic surgeons in the United States currently participating in a Joint/Adult Reconstruction Fellowship, or who have completed this fellowship and are within the first four years of their clinical practice. Fellows are engaged in the policy-making process and guided by AAHKS mentors on becoming more effective advocates for the profession in Washington, D.C. As 2020-2021 Fellow Justin T. Deen, MD puts it, “the HPF offers a unique opportunity to garner understanding of legislative policy, all the while cultivating advocacy and mentorship among other AAHKS members and leadership.” For details on the fellowship and how to apply before October 1, click here.
