AAHKS member Steven Duncan, MD, is investigating the use of antibiotic delivery constructs for the treatment of periprosthetic joint infection (PJI) following TKA. PJI remains the leading cause for failure following primary knee replacement. Managing these infections with static antibiotic delivery can lead to morbidity for the patient and potentially the caregiver. To help improve mobility, there is increasing use of articulating spacers, which can require increased operative time and resources.
As an orthopedic surgeon who performs total joint arthroplasty, we are asking you to complete this voluntary and confidential 10-minute survey.
