At the 2023 AAHKS Annual Meeting, Digital Health and Social Media Committee Chair Shaun P. Patel, MD and Vice Chair Dustin J. Schuett, DO talked to Joshua C. Rozell, MD about his research, presented at the podium, regarding the additional surgeon stress for surgeries on patients with elevated BMIs. Dr. Rozell’s study showed that additional work is required from surgeons who perform these surgeries vs. a standard primary TJA. The study’s goal was to quantify and provide data showing elevated stress levels. Listen to the recording for more on Dr. Rozell’s findings on the association of complex cases and effects on the surgeon.
