Arthroplasty Today is partnering with industry on a special edition devoted to health equity research in adult hip and knee reconstruction. Health disparities like higher risks, complications and poorer outcomes disproportionately affect Black, Hispanic and other minority patients. Achieving health equity requires us to look deeper into the root causes of these disparities and social determinants of health. AAHKS leaders Linda I. Suleiman, MD and Kim K. Tucker, MD are Guest Editors for this issue. They invite authors of research on these topics to submit manuscript proposals of no more than 300 words to arthroplastytoday@gmail.com by August 19, 2024. Selected proposals will be invited to submit a full manuscript that will go through the standard peer review process. If accepted for this special issue, open access fees will be waived due to our industry support.
