AAHKS President Javad Parvizi, MD, FRSC, a native of Azerbaijan, Iran, immigrated to the U.S. in 1995 after completing his medical degree in the UK. In his 2023 Annual Meeting Keynote Address, Dr. Parvizi shared stories from fellow immigrant arthroplasty surgeons about the opportunities this country provides to immigrants, including his personal experiences leaving a violet nation and the opportunities he received in the U.S. that led to his success.
