AAHKS Member Receives ATSM International Award

AAHKS member A. Seth Greenwald, MD, and his three co-authors have received the Charles B. Dudley Award for a selection of technical papers (STP) specific to metal-on-metal total hip devices and modularity in tapers utilized in total joint replacement. The 29 papers are the result of two symposia and provide contemporary insight into the evolving knowledge base of the tapered connections employed in modular joint replacement implant systems. The STP can help the FDA define the regulatory requirements necessary for medical device approvals in the United States as well as the EU, and in a real sense, are indicative of laboratory evaluations and predictive of clinical outcomes. ASTM International is one of the largest voluntary standards developing organizations in the world.
