AAHKS Signs Letter to Support Team Physicians

AAHKS joined 27 other organizations in signing on to support “The Team Physician Consensus Statement” developed by the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine (AMSSM), American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM), American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM)  and the American Osteopathic Academy of Sports Medicine (AOASM). The open letter AAHKS signed shares concerns that future sports medicine physicians will be discouraged from the field due to escalating liability issues. ESPN posted an article regarding the open letter, which has been published to the NFL, NHL and NCAA pages. Read the open letter here.
