The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and Brigham and Women’s Hospital Center for Patient Safety Research and Practice are requesting surgeon input on their Measuring Outcomes in Orthopedics Routinely (MOOR) program. MOOR consists of four measures related to outcomes of total hip and total knee arthroplasty:
- Risk-standardized complication rate (RSCR) following elective primary total hip arthroplasty (THA) and/or total knee arthroplasty (TKA); “RSCR” Review Measure | Comment on Measure
- Prolonged Opioid Prescribing (POP) following elective primary THA and/or TKA; “POP” Review Measure | Comment on Measure
- Risk-standardized inpatient respiratory depression (IRD) rate following elective primary THA and/or TKA; “IRD” Review Measure | Comment on Measure
- Risk-standardized major bleeding and venous thromboembolism (VTE) rate following elective primary THA and/or TKA; “VTE” Review Measure | Comment on Measure
