Congress Requests Withdrawal of Proposed Medicare Arthroplasty Cuts

This week, 35 members of the House of Representatives wrote a bipartisan letter to U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Administrator Mehmet Oz, MD requesting that CMS withdraws the 20% reduction in work relative value units (RVUs) for arthroplasty procedures in the proposed 2027 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule. Additional Members of Congress reached out to CMS directly even if they did not sign on. The letter was led by Doc Caucus Co-Chair Gregory F.
