Inadequately controlled pain has important consequences, and many patients report moderate to severe pain following surgery. Multimodal analgesia targets multiple pain pathways and is recommended by national guidelines. These guidelines specifically recommend patients receive an around-the-clock regimen of COXIBs, NSAIDs, or acetaminophen. This program will feature a discussion about a once-daily intravenous NSAID. The discussion will include an overview of clinical trial data, including data specific to total knee arthroplasty, and the potential role of this agent in multimodal analgesia for moderate to severe postoperative pain.
