We regret to report that Dr. Larry Dorr passed this week. In addition to being a pioneer in the field of arthroplasty, Dr. Dorr was a founder of AAHKS, served as the 1995 AAHKS President and was recognized for his work as founder of Operation Walk with the AAHKS Humanitarian Award in 2017. Dr. Dorr remained active with AAHKS, serving on the Operation Walk Central Board.
AAHKS past president and JOA Editor in Chief John Callaghan, MD, stated, “The organization was dear to him as a founding member and by the many accolades the organization awarded him. His passing will be a professional and personal loss to all of us.”
AAHKS President C. Lowry Barnes, MD added, “A thorough tribute will be forthcoming, as well as a fitting way to memorialize Larry and recognize his legacy to our organization. In the meantime, we offer our condolences and prayers to his wife Marilyn, his family, friends, and colleagues.”
