AAHKS joined a broad coalition of national medical organizations in a letter urging Congress to protect Medicare patient access to quality health care by repealing the Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB) that was created as a provision in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA). IPAB, as created under PPACA, is a board comprised of Presidential appointees who will be charged with making recommendations to cut Medicare expenditures if spending growth reaches an arbitrary level.
