AAHKS Leadership met with Rep. Andy Harris and the Ways and Means Health Subcommittee
Concluding a busy week in Washington, AAHKS President Mark I. Froimson, MD, MBA, Past President William A. Jiranek, MD, FACS, AAHKS First Vice President Craig J. Della Valle, MD, Advocacy Council Chair Richard Iorio, MD and Evidence Based Medicine Committee Chair Adolph J. Yates, MD were joined by 2016-2017 Health Policy Fellow Chancellor F. Gray, MD to advocate for AAHKS during the AAOS National Orthopaedic Leadership Conference (NOLC) in Washington, DC.
The AAHKS representatives met with Senators Sherrod Brown (D-OH), Representative Andy Harris, MD (R-MD) and Representative Joseph Kennedy III (D-MA), Congressional staffers from several offices as well as the Energy & Commerce Health Subcommittee and Ways & Means Health Subcommittee to discuss physician-led health care reform, risk stratification for CMS payment models, and reforming physician reporting requirements to be less burdensome and to collect more meaningful data.
