A study published this month in Clinical Epidemiology, “Metabolic syndrome as a risk factor for total hip or knee replacement due to primary osteoarthritis: a prospective cohort study,” used data from the HUNT2 Study and the Norwegian Arthroplasty Register to conclude that “neither metabolic syndrome nor its components were associated with increased risk of THR or TKR due to primary osteoarthritis.” The abstract posted in the open-access journal also includes an illustrated video.
