Humanitarian volunteers from Operation Walk Maryland conducted a medical mission trip in Georgetown, Guyana this week. Originally founded by AAHKS Past President Lawrence D. Dorr, MD, Operation Walk, or OpWalk, are now over 20 volunteer medical humanitarian organizations that provide the gift of mobility through life-changing joint replacement surgeries at no cost for those in need in the U.S. and globally. The Maryland chapter of Operation Walk, led by Dr. Paul Khanuja, MD, completed its third mission at Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation and performed 55 joint replacements for 50 patients.
