The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) is seeking participants for its Patient Advocacy Program. The program is designed to capture patient stories on key policy issues impacting the musculoskeletal community to support AAOS efforts on Capitol Hill. Did you know legislators are much more likely to be influenced by patients who are also their constituents? As such, patients’ stories are valuable to advocacy. Participants in the program will be asked to join two advocacy webinars and send a few emails to their legislators through the AAOS Advocacy Action Center, with the opportunity for annual in-person visits with legislators on Capitol Hill. Interested patients may fill out this Patient Advocacy Intake Form or learn more about the program here, so please share with them. You can also download and print AAHKS and AAOS materials to encourage patient participation.
