Perioperative Management Guidelines

The recently updated “Guidelines for the Perioperative Management of Antirheumatic Medication in Patients with Rheumatic Diseases Undergoing Elective THA or TKA” were featured in an April 2022 Healio article. AAHKS and the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) released the update in March, bringing the 2017 edition in line with more recent advancements. As AAHKS President Bryan D. Springer, MD stated in the article, “It is important that as new studies, new information and new drugs become available, the existing guidelines are periodically updated.”  Read the new guidelines summary here.
