AAHKS members were interviewed for the January Orthopedics Today cover story about the challenges of diagnosing metal allergy in total joint arthroplasty patients. Whether surgeons can determine if a patient has a metal allergy prior to surgery or is experiencing a reaction after surgery, there is still not enough research to justify testing methods.
