Thank you to the hundreds of AAHKS members who have already written to their Congressional Representative in support of H.R. 6020, “Supporting Medicare Providers Act of 2021”. If you have not yet done so, please click here to tell Congress to take action to stop further reductions to your Medicare reimbursement next year!

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) proposed substantial changes to primary care reimbursement that would have triggered across-the-board cuts to other physician services this year. At our urging, Congress delayed those cuts by providing a one-year 3.75% increase to physician services, which will expire on December 31st. So, we must again call on Congress to fix this issue. Congressmen Ami Bera, MD (D-CA) and Larry Bucshon, MD (R-IN) have introduced H.R. 6020, “Supporting Medicare Providers Act of 2021”, which would once again avert the cuts by extending the 3.75% Medicare payment increase for physician services through the end of 2022. Prior to introduction of this legislation, more than half of the House of Representatives signed onto a Bera-Bucshon letter calling on Congressional leadership to ensure physician reimbursement is not cut. AAHKS has called on House Leadership to pass H.R. 6020 in year-end legislation. We are competing with hundreds of other Congressional priorities, so your advocacy is essential! Please ask your Congressional Representative to co-sponsor and vote for H.R. 6020 to reverse CMS’s pay cut to physicians. Click here to take action!
